Right now you can book any Aeroplan award for the price of a domestic award ticket. This can save you 70%+ of the miles required on a first class international trip. Make sure your route has a domestic stop before continuing on to Asia, Europe, or any other fun international destination.
First class tickets from North America to Asia that are normally 270,000 miles are going for 50,000.
You need to have at least 50% of the miles required in your account to book. You can transfer Amex Membership Rewards points to Aeroplan.
On the last screen the award should price out to the price of the first stopover, so make sure your route has a domestic stop first.
No guarantees that these tickets will be honored, but if they're ticketed you have a much better shot.
